Don’t let your top candidates slip away, or let them believe that you’re not interested.
Make sure to take these steps:
- Respond to messages within 24 hours. If you receive a message from a candidate, make sure to respond within 24 hours – or at the latest 48 hours – to keep them engaged.
- Keep in touch with job status check-ins. After you’ve interviewed a great candidate, but are still interviewing others, make sure to send them “We still remain very interested” messages to keep in touch.
- Consider negotiating on salary. If the candidate lets you know that they are considering accepting another job, it may be worth offering a higher salary or pay rate to be more competitive with the competing opportunity. It’s hard to find the perfect doctor or nurse, so don’t let pay be the only reason you lose a top candidate.
