Welcome to our spiffy new blog! We are excited you’re here, and we are looking forward to starting a lively conversation.
This is a momentous time for healthcare. In the United States and abroad, government policies are undergoing major shifts, aging populations and other significant trends are increasing the demand for care, and technology is fundamentally altering how that care is delivered.
In short, how and why we work in medicine is changing. Doctors, nurses, and the many other people who make the healthcare system hum are seeking new opportunities that take on more of the modern, tech-driven qualities permeating nearly every other industry. Increasingly, clinicians are freelancing and telecommuting and often find themselves balancing patient care with vastly different types of work in startups, hospital administration, government, and many other venues.
The word “nomad” seems fitting here, as we are looking forward to making this a space to wander through important topics, exploring all the things that impact clinicians, medical facilities and the community at large. Hey, we may even talk about our favorite yurt-based clinics… you never know!
Speaking of Nomads, we look forward to introducing ourselves to you through profiles of our team. We are privileged to work with some pretty awesome people, and we think you’ll enjoy learning more about them and their work. We’re also excited to profile many of you – the Nomads out there doing important clinical work across the country. Feel free to shoot me an email if you’d ever like to share your experiences on the road with Nomad.
Over the course of the next weeks, months, and years to come, you’ll be hearing from a variety of voices, but every post will stick to the same core values the we adhere to on Team Nomad. In our company, in all our dealings, and now in our blog posts, we strive to be:
Yes, it’s cheeky, but we actually live by it! So, if you want to join us on our mission to make healthcare more transparent, more efficient, and more effective with new technology… then you’re in the right place. Welcome!
We can’t wait to start this adventure with you.
